RULES

Both the Triathlon and Duathlon are sanctioned by USA Triathlon. You MUST BE A MEMBER OF USAT to participate. It is MANDATORY to present a PHOTO ID and your USAT membership card at check-in/registration or sign a waiver if you are not a USAT member.

A complete list of rules for USA Triathlon events can be found on their web site. Some basic rules are below.

EVENT TIMING

This event will be timed with the latest timing technology. Each athlete is given a transponder to put on their ankle. As the participate crosses over a detection point, the loop activates the transponder which relays it unique identification number. That unique ID is passed on to a Decoder which gives the “passing’ a precise time stamp. The passing data is then handled by the timing software in a connected laptop or computer. You will need to pick up the transponder and ankle bracelet on the morning of the race at the registration area. You must present your race BIB number to receive your timing chip. This is to make sure we get you times correct. The transponder is programmed to coincide with your individual race number. The detection points will be set up to give you your individual event split times from the swim, bike, run or for the Duathlon the run, bike, and run. This transponder is $35… if you forget to return it at the end of the race or if you do not finish, you will be billed for $35.00. You will also be body marked with your race number at the registration area.

CATERGORIES

All USAT races will use the “Age Up Rule” for award distribution and ranking. It is important that you begin in the proper wave start with respect to the rule. The age rule means you are racing based on you age as of 12/31/2008.
