Titletown Fall Football Packages

“Titletown USA” is ESPN Sport Center’s summer-long, interactive initiative to determine which city, town or municipality, would be declared by sports fans as the place in America that best represents the unique affinity a community shares with its title-winning professional, college and/or amateur teams and athletes. The fan-based, multimedia search featured fan-generated nominations and a blue-ribbon panel of judges. It concluded with fans voting for the winning community.

Valdosta was named “Titletown, USA” on July 28, 2008. Some Valdosta, GA “Titletown USA” facts: The Valdosta Wildcats hold the record for the most wins in high school football with 838 and have won 23 Georgia State Championships and six National Championships. Lowndes High School has won three of the last four state championships and five total. Valwood School has won 3 football, one cross-country, two boys track, four boys tennis and three girls tennis championships. Valdosta State University won Division II National Championships in football in 2004 & 2007 as well as a baseball title in 1979 and a men’s tennis championship in 2006.
